Mahj Studio Privacy Policy

Mahj Studio respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you when you use our website and services.

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we may collect your email address, username, profile information, and login credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. We use them only to create your Mahj Studio account and to show your name and photo on your profile. They are stored in our database on Google Cloud. We do not sell this information, share it with advertisers, or use it for any other purpose.

We also collect information related to your use of Mahj Studio, including games played, racks, scores, progress, hand selections, Compass activity, Charleston decisions, calls, discards, hand history, and similar gameplay or learning data.

How We Use Information

We use this information to provide and improve Mahj Studio, manage your account, save your progress, provide gameplay and learning features, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and develop new features.

We may also use your email address to send account notices, product updates, learning tips, community updates, and other Mahj Studio-related communications. You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time.

Payments and Third-Party Services

Mahj Studio is currently free to use and may offer optional donations. Donations are processed by Stripe. Mahj Studio does not directly store your full payment card information.

We use third-party services to help operate Mahj Studio: Google Cloud and Google Identity Platform for hosting, data storage (including profile photos you upload), and account sign-in, and Stripe for donations. These providers process information on our behalf and according to their own privacy policies.

Sharing Your Information

Mahj Studio does not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers for their independent marketing purposes.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Mahj Studio, such as hosting, authentication, payment, email, security, and technical providers. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect Mahj Studio, our users, or others.

Security and Data Retention

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Mahj Studio, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Information may be deleted or de-identified when it is no longer needed.

Your Choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law. You can delete your Mahj Studio account at any time from Edit Profile in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, game history, uploaded photo, and sign-in account. Donation records are kept for accounting but are no longer linked to you.

Children

Mahj Studio is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Mahj Studio develops or our practices change. When we do, we will update the Effective Date above.
